This particular kitchen renovation required a clever approach due to the presence of an old fireplace that posed significant structural and cost implications.

The original plan to extend the kitchen was complicated by the fireplace, which, if removed, would have resulted in costly engineering work. Understanding these constraints, Cátia Interiors devised an ingenious design strategy. Instead of removing the fireplace, the team retained its skeleton for structural integrity, ensuring the stability of the floors above. This obstacle was transformed into an opportunity: bespoke cabinetry was artfully crafted to conceal the fireplace's framework, resulting in a seamless and minimal kitchen extension without any visual interruptions.

The adjacent lounge area was given an equally thoughtful touch. As a tribute to the family's heritage, Cátia Interiors curated a unique memory wall using sentimental items. This personalization brought depth and character to the space, creating an area that not only serves as a stylish lounge but also as a storytelling canvas, reflecting the family's history and memories.
